Ingenuity was coming from clubs and the streets, and new sounds were being tested out on the millions who were listening to the radio. As a companion piece to the Red Bull Music Academy documentary <em><a href=\"https://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/magazine/revolutions-on-air-film\" target=\"_blank\">Revolutions On Air: The Golden Era of New York Radio 1980 - 1988</a></em>, we invited the era’s most important players for a roundtable discussion: with insights from <a href=\"https://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/lectures/marley-marl-tokyo-2014\" target=\"_blank\">Marley Marl</a>, <a href=\"https://daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/tony-humphries-collection\">Tony Humphries</a>, <a href=\"https://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/lectures/dj-red-alert-reel-recognize-reel\" target=\"_blank\">DJ Red Alert</a>, Merlin Bobb, <a href=\"https://daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/2015/05/ted-currier-interview\">Ted Currier</a>, <a href=\"https://cuttingnyc.com\" target=\"_blank\">Aldo Marin</a>, and <a href=\"https://daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/2015/05/chuck-chillout-interview\">Chuck Chillout</a>, all hosted by EgoTrip's Chairman Mao.
