What album would you save?</p>\n\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">I wouldn’t save a record. I’d save my hard drive. It’s such a difficult question.</p>\n\n<p class=\"text-question ng-scope\">Well, you have to answer it. Haha. The next question would be \"where did you get it from?\" – and we're not interested in where you got your hard drive.</p>\n\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">The problem is I don’t have a desired one record. Alright, it would have to be Prince's <em>For You</em>. The <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN-IOvkRjFc\" target=\"_blank\">first Prince album</a>.</p>\n\n<p class=\"text-question ng-scope\">Where and when did you get it?</p>\n\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">I bought it on iTunes like four and a half years ago.</p>\n\n<p class=\"text-question ng-scope\">So you don’t even have a physical copy?</p>\n\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">I’ve got tons of vinyl.</p>\n\n<p class=\"text-question ng-scope\">We know, so can’t you think of one vinyl record?</p>\n\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">Not one that’s significant.</p>\n\n<p class=\"text-question ng-scope\">Maybe an early one that...</p>\n\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">I’ll just lie.</p>\n\n<p class=\"text-question ng-scope\">Fine.</p></div></div><div rbma-image-block=\"\" id=\"body-2\" block=\"block\" class=\"block block-image alignment-center ng-scope ng-isolate-scope\" ng-class=\"paramsClasses\"><figure class=\"figure\"> <img rbma-image=\"block.image\" class=\"figure__media ng-isolate-scope\" src=\"https://media.redbullmusicacademy.com/assets/601/131/969/darqwan-500.jpg?auto=format&amp;w=700\"> <!-- ngIf: block.credit || block.caption --> </figure></div><div rbma-text-block=\"\" id=\"body-3\" block=\"block\" class=\"block block-text style-normal ng-scope ng-isolate-scope\" ng-class=\"paramsClasses\"><div bind-compiled-html=\"block.text | markdown\"><p class=\"ng-scope\">Ok,&nbsp;the track is called “Confused” and&nbsp;it is by <a href=\"https://www.discogs.com/artist/Darqwan\" target=\"_blank\">Darqwan</a>,&nbsp;but it was an alias of Oris Jay. I bought that record... Wait, I got <em>given</em> that record when I was working in a record shop about 10 years ago, Big Apple Records. And it means so much to me because it was the song that made me start creating my own basslines. My friends and I heard a rumor that [Darqwan] used FruityLoops, which is total nonsense. And then we found a plugin <a href=\"https://www.threechords.com/hammerhead/ts-404.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">called a TS 404</a>, and we re-created the bassline.</p>\n\n<p class=\"ng-scope\">I just remember it being amazing. At the time it was so dark but had crazy energy. Bam bam bam bam! The buildups and everything. For us, it was all we wanted to hear at the time.
